Contractor Logistic Support

JTI Defence has recently completed a major facility expansion programme at its Riverside base in Dundee, Scotland. Situated in a major sea port less than 500m from the dockside, and only 3 miles from the regional airport, JTI Defence is perfectly positioned to provide substantial Contractor Logistic Support in terms of resources, expertise, and communications.

Transferring Logistic Support responsibility to JTI Defence ensures superior levels of availability for shelter systems, individual equipment and maintenance services. Wide knowledge of defence logistics operating systems enables JTI Defence to achieve a seamless interface with existing in-service operations and support organisations.

An example of JTI Defence support can be seen with the recent contract with UK MOD to reconstitute the tentage returned from Kosovo. Containers were shipped to JTI Defence, unpacked, itemised, cleaned, inspected, repaired where necessary, reproofed, repacked, and returned to a MOD depot, serviceable for immediate issue. From several thousand items, less than 0.1% was written off and the complete consignment was returned available for use.

JTI Defence has extensive manufacturing, storage, and maintenance facilities. A complete service is provided where the client can procure, store, and maintain shelter systems; deploy to air or sea ports of embarkation, or in many cases direct to the deployment site.
